I’m Justin, owner and artist at Midnight Element Tattoo Studio. I’ve been tattooing for 10 years, specializing in color and black & gray realism, while also enjoying traditional work. Some of my favorite subjects are portraits, animals, horror, and nature.
My approach is pretty simple—I want to understand your idea, be upfront about what will and won’t work, and create something that fits the body and is designed to hold up over time. I keep the process laid-back and collaborative, and I love when clients give me the creative freedom to turn their ideas into something unique.
My Approach
I keep the tattoo process laid-back, collaborative, and straightforward. Bring me your idea and references, and we’ll talk through the design, size, placement, and what will work best.
I’m not interested in simply telling someone “yes” just to book an appointment. If I think something needs to change to work better with my style or make a stronger tattoo, I’ll explain why. Longevity is always part of my process—I want the tattoo to fit the body, have the right amount of detail, and still look good as it ages.
I also love creative freedom. Some of my favorite pieces start with a client’s basic idea and grow from there as we work together to create something unique.
Midnight Element
I spent about seven months building Midnight Element and getting the studio exactly where I wanted it. My goal was to create a clean, professional, comfortable space where people could feel at ease getting tattooed and where I could be proud to create my work.
I was born and raised in Texas and have lived in several places around the country before eventually making Michigan home.
